Not anything exciting to report. The doctor told me about the swelling, bruising etc. One thing he pointed out that I don't recall seeing in anyone else's journal, was that the packing in my nose would be there for a week. Darn, I just realized I didn't ask him about taking showers, with the steam and the packing etc. I guess I'll have to call the office.
Also, they gave me
the "2 weeks before don't do this" list. You wouldn't believe the
list of things I cannot take, mostly blood thinning related. But also
they
recommend not taking any herbs or supplements. I showed him
the Arnica and the
alpha lypoic acid and he just referred me to the list. The US is such a
litigious society, it's not wonder he doesn't want to give advice on
herbs
and supplements.
So I put away all my supplements. I will only take alpha lypoic acid until a day or so before surgery and start up again the day after, and start using the Arnica the day of.
I'm excited and just
a little bit nervous. A friend is picking me up after surgery and
another offered to stay the night of, so that should work out
okay.
My mom is still having a fit-waste of money, you're pretty-you don't
need
it, etc. Well, I got that big old bump on my nose from her, so
it's
no wonder, but I think she will change her mind when she sees how happy
I am about the result. Two weeks to go until March 5!
